Location. The Governor Hotel is distinguished as a property that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Located in the scenic city of Portland, Ore., the hotel was renovated in 2005. Hotel Features. The Governor Hotel added a west wing in 1923 to accommodate the Portland Elks Club, and took its architectural guidance from the Farnese Palace in Rome. Dining includes Jake's Grill, which showcases a brass-and-mahogany bar, carved wooden columns, historic photos and mounted wild game. The Dome Room features an eight-foot, stained-glass domed ceiling. Jake's Grill serves seafood, steaks and specialty desserts. Starbucks serves coffee specialties on site. A lobby kiosk with wireless Internet access and 14,000 square feet of banquet and meeting space accommodate traveling professionals and celebratory parties.
